This is FREE in PDF form!!!!!!!! This workbook was developed from my experiences as a
human relations trainer. It includes guided imagery, meditation,
dreams and dreamwork , and sensory awareness training.
The theories, concepts, and exercises in this workbook have
been applied successfully throughout the grades.
In age of increasing technology, testing, and assessment that
often tends to depersonalize and dehumanize learning and teaching
the contents of this workbook will help teachers and parents to
reach the HEARTS and SOULS of their students and children. The
interesting thing is that these activities tend to stimulate the WHOLE
brain, which results in better academic outcomes - a happy
consequence!

Guided Imagery
Guided Imagery has often been confused with hypnosis. One
major difference is that in correct guided imagery the teacher and
students cooperate in getting the various images. I emphasize that
the student is always in control and can easily remove himself from
the situation by opening his eyes if he becomes uncomfortable,
scared, or bored. The range of uses in classrooms goes from
simple imaging of curriculum such as a step-by-step tour through
the digestive system to finding solutions to serious emotional
problems.
Phil Jackson, considered by many the greatest coach of
professional basketball used imagery to help his players.
In an age of stress and anxiety for even the youngest children,
teaching them meditative techniques can help them deal with stress
as well as increase their overall emotional, physical, and mental
health. The by product is that the teacher can also benefit from this
training.
Meditation or relaxation training is not a plaything. It can
have some serious downsides, so these are discussed to get the
most from these activities.
Dreamwork
Dreamwork takes the students into an area that has mystified
people for centuries. The various techniques offered demystifies
dreaming, but makes them fun to experience and discuss. The
“dream communities” that are developed help students become
closer, learn how to be trusting and trustworthy, and often lead to
healthier students.
Sensory Awareness
Sensory awareness training teaches them how to use their
senses at a much higher level. The activities are fun as well as
revealing. It increases their learning potentials.
Communication Training
Communication training is a series of questions that can be
made into convenient booklets. The students pair off and both
respond to the same open-ended statements. Very effective in
getting them to know one another. Great for increasing
multicultural and gender understanding and are proactive in
warding off misunderstanding.
